With\u00a0the\u00a0welcome\u00a0address\u00a0of\u00a0Dr\u00a0Kunal\u00a0Ray,\u00a0Chairman\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0Silver\u00a0Jubilee\u00a0Celebration Committee, CPWAC the\u00a0inaugural session of\u00a0the\u00a0Seminar &\u00a0Meeting started right at\u00a011-00\u00a0A.M.\u00a0Shri\u00a0Asit\u00a0Roy,\u00a0Joint\u00a0Secretary\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0Association\u00a0presented\u00a0the\u00a0opening song.<\/p>

In the welcome address, President Shri Paban Mukhopadhyay thanked members for their active participation to the\u00a0seminar and expressed his desire to get more and\u00a0more\u00a0dedicated\u00a0involvement with\u00a0concrete\u00a0suggestions\u00a0for\u00a0the\u00a0betterment of the Association.He then paid tribute to the homage of the departed soul of Shri Samir Sen, the Former President\u00a0& Advisor of CPWAC.<\/p>

Shri Abhijit Majumdar, Coordinator of Silver Jubilee Celebration Committee, highlighted Samir Sen’s long-term activities with\u00a0CPWAC. He\u00a0emphasised that Mr Sen’s leadership was marked by a\u00a0deep-seated commitment to social causes and equity,\u00a0leaving\u00a0an\u00a0enduring\u00a0legacy\u00a0of\u00a0compassion\u00a0and\u00a0advocacy.\u00a0Mr\u00a0Majumder\u00a0also told\u00a0that\u00a0while\u00a0working\u00a0together,\u00a0he\u00a0learnt\u00a0a\u00a0lot\u00a0from\u00a0him\u00a0and\u00a0requested\u00a0the\u00a0house to consult the \u2018Communicator\u2019\u00a0further to know more about Mr Sen.<\/p>

The\u00a0President Shri\u00a0Mukhopadhyay, on\u00a0behalf\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0members\u00a0deeply\u00a0mourned\u00a0for the sad demise of the\u00a0members, we lost during this period and conveyed sincere commiseration\u00a0to the bereaved families of the deceased members.<\/p>

One\u00a0minute\u00a0silence\u00a0observed\u00a0to\u00a0pay\u00a0deepest\u00a0respect\u00a0to\u00a0those\u00a0departed\u00a0souls.<\/p>

After that, started the \u2018Plenary Discussion on Health and Finance\u2019 with delegates of\u00a0the\u00a0concerned\u00a0organizations.\u00a0Dr.\u00a0Ray\u00a0invited\u00a0Shri\u00a0Nityananda\u00a0Naskar,\u00a0Representative of the Mutual Fund Distributor, \u2018Reliable Finance Services Pvt. Ltd.\u2019, Kolkata. Shri Naskar\u00a0delivered\u00a0an\u00a0inspiring communication on\u00a0the\u00a0importance of\u00a0Financial\u00a0Health output to the society and particularly to the Seniors.<\/p>

Dr\u00a0A.\u00a0Uppadhyay, Oncologist, Deshun Hospital delivered a\u00a0sensible lecture on\u00a0the disease\u00a0of\u00a0Cancer,\u00a0its\u00a0causes\u00a0and\u00a0possible\u00a0remedies\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0disease\u00a0detected\u00a0at\u00a0early stage. He also discussed about recent developments of the cancer research and present set up of modern sophisticated instruments at the Hospital.<\/p>

Shri Saurav Dutta, Corporate Representative of the said Hospital highlighted the existing facilities and the\u00a0overall activities of the\u00a0Critical Care\u00a0Unit of the hospital, especially for the Cancer Treatment.<\/p>

Needless to\u00a0say,\u00a0the\u00a0house appreciated all\u00a0the\u00a0lectures delivered and\u00a0participated actively in the open forum of the session.<\/p>

The Seminar ended after giving thanks to the Speakers. President Shri Paban Mukhopadhyay felicitated them with Flower Plants. He then announced a break for the G.B Meeting that started subsequently\u00a0at about 12- 20 P.M.<\/p>

Chairman Dr. Ray then invited President CPWAC Shri Paban Mukhopadhyay, Co- president Dr Nikhilendu Sekhar Das, Vice-president Shri Jayanta Kumar Mondal, Vice-president\u00a0Dr\u00a0Debashish\u00a0Bhattacharya, Secretary Shri\u00a0Debashish Bhattacherjee, Treasurer Shri Tapan Kumar Dey to take their chairs on the Dias.<\/p>

To\u00a0start\u00a0with\u00a0the\u00a0Meeting,\u00a0President\u00a0once\u00a0again\u00a0welcomes\u00a0the\u00a0members. Co-President Dr. Nikhilendu Sekhar Das read out the minutes of the Proceedings of\u00a0last G.B\u00a0Meeting dated 13th\u00a0April,\u00a02024\u00a0and invited\u00a0members for\u00a0discussion on the minutes. However,\u00a0It was passed unanimously\u00a0by the House.<\/p>

President Shri\u00a0Mukhopadhyay read\u00a0out\u00a0his\u00a0message. Following him,\u00a0the\u00a0Secretary Shri\u00a0Bhattacherjee\u00a0and\u00a0the\u00a0Treasurer\u00a0Shri\u00a0Dey\u00a0presented\u00a0their\u00a0reports\u00a0in\u00a0succession.<\/p>

Dr.\u00a0Das\u00a0requested\u00a0the\u00a0members\u00a0to\u00a0keep\u00a0periodical\u00a0contract\u00a0with\u00a0the\u00a0E.C\u00a0members, especially in the month of February and September every year to enquire about details of\u00a0the\u00a0forthcoming G.B\u00a0meet and with\u00a0tangible suggestions. That way, any grievance of unawareness of the details of the meetings could be minimised, he conveyed.<\/p>

Nine of our members who completed 80 years in this period were gracefully acknowledged and\u00a0three of\u00a0them\u00a0attending the\u00a0meeting were\u00a0felicitated with\u00a0the Flower Plants.<\/p>

In\u00a0the\u00a0discussion session,\u00a0Shri\u00a0Anirban Kundu\u00a0and\u00a0Shri\u00a0Vijay\u00a0Kumar\u00a0Gond,\u00a0IICB\u00a0raised some\u00a0questions\u00a0on\u00a0the\u00a0balance\u00a0sheet\u00a0and\u00a0Shri\u00a0Dey\u00a0satisfied\u00a0them\u00a0with\u00a0appropriate reply.\u00a0On\u00a0medical\u00a0issues,\u00a0Shri\u00a0Subrata\u00a0Ghosh,\u00a0CGCRI\u00a0suggested\u00a0to\u00a0make\u00a0an\u00a0easy\u00a0axis for communication between patients and Hospitals through E-mail facilities. He also suggested to make necessary arrangements for cashless medical treatment benefits with R. N. Tagore Hospital for CGCRI as before.<\/p>

Shri\u00a0Aritram Kundu, Former staff\u00a0of\u00a0CGCRI and\u00a0presently with\u00a0G.S.I\u00a0highlighted on the\u00a0issue\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0anomalies\u00a0of\u00a0pay\u00a0protection\u00a0and\u00a0incremental\u00a0facilities of\u00a0the\u00a0retirees. The suggestions\u00a0were noted for further discussion in EC meeting.<\/p>

With\u00a0the\u00a0vote\u00a0of\u00a0thanks by\u00a0Shri\u00a0Subrata\u00a0Ghosh,\u00a0Scientist\u00a0CGCRI,\u00a0the\u00a0sessions\u00a0ended.<\/p>

Members were\u00a0requested\u00a0to\u00a0have\u00a0their\u00a0Lunch\u00a0at\u00a0CGCRI\u00a0Canteen\u00a0and\u00a0to\u00a0attend\u00a0the cultural programme after lunch. Members have relished the Musical Evening arranged\u00a0with\u00a0the\u00a0participation\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0following\u00a0eminent\u00a0singers,\u00a0Smt.\u00a0Sarbani\u00a0Sen, Shri Surojit Chatterjee, Shri Subrata Sengupta, Smt. Mousumi Bhowmick, Shri Sukumar Ghosh.<\/p>
